A Final Post Before a Lull

Did you know I'm having a baby tomorrow? I am. A 2nd little girl at 7:45 a.m. We're excited, crazy, tired already and not feeling like it's real at all. So, instead of thinking through final details and packing up the last tidbits for the hospital, I'm blogging.

This is beautiful Mallory. YOU can see that her skin, eyes and smile are gorgeous, but the little bit of time I got to spend with her showed me that her beauty goes deeper than that. She's about to start her senior year in Alexander City and is so much fun! We scheduled this shoot for the day before, and mother nature gave us a lovely thunder storm instead. I'm glad though, because this turned out just right! I hope you enjoy her as much as I did.

Beautiful Bride Series

You may recall from their engagement post, that I think Peyton is GORGEOUS. Just so classically beautiful with awesome expression. Well, we did her bridal portraits yesterday in the EXTREME heat. I believe it got up to 99, at least. This series is one we did at the very end. She hasn't touched up, or even blotted her face. You would never know we were all dripping sweat and terribly uncomfortable, would you? (You would if you could have seen me!) She's the picture of demure elegance.

This series is my favorite from the afternoon because she wore her mom's veil. I think that is so special, and loved that we could feature it and this beautiful bride together.

Magen and Trey- a HAPPY wedding sneak

It's always hard to choose which few pictures to include on a wedding sneak. And I truly do want my sneaks to be sneaks. I look forward to the full posts, once I've taken the actual time to go through them and get them perfect. But it's also fun to give the people involved, and particularly the bride, in this case :) a little taste of what's to come.

Magen and Trey had been together for a long time (I can't remember the exact year count, someone comment with that detail) and you shall soon see that people were really happy for them to be getting married. They're a happy couple, it was a happy day and as I went through the images to choose some for this sneak, it became obvious that was the theme. So, look at all these smiles. I'm so glad I got to smile with them!

One of my favorite things at this wedding was the relationship Trey's family has with each other, and Magen. This image of them laughing together at the reception made me so happy.
I have quickly learned that people are very worried/intrigued by a 37 week pregnant photographer at weddings. This older fella asked if he could take MY picture, and I think it was the SONG that was making this lady so happy, not just my belly. If you're not smiling as you finish this, you may need to check your pulse.

It's Personal

I have failed at posting occasional personal entries. But here's one for you!
My daughter, aunt, grandmother, cousin and 3 second cousins (or 1st cousins-once-removed or something) all went to pick blueberries at Grabuck farms. It was super hot and so much fun! My little girl and I got 2 and 1/4 pounds worth. When we got home and rested, we endeavored to put those berries to good use. Here's how it went.

See how hot we got?I must admit, I didn't know what blueberry bushes looked like. They're very unassuming. They could be hiding in my backyard!

Time to pack it up.We got going on our blueberry cooking. I had a wonderful sous chef!
Look how professional she is! Don't worry, we don't always cook in this attire :)
Oh. My. Goodness. Yummy goodness.

Sneak: Peyton and Pres

Peyton and Pres were married last Saturday. As the turbulent weather rolled through Birmingham, the delight that these two were feeling about beginning their lives together could not be tamed. I'm not ready for the full post yet, but as I'm editing, these 3 images are standing out to me. Simply because of the unfettered delight in each.

I don't know what was said here, just after they first saw each other, but don't you want to know?
This is right after Pres "kissed the bride." Look at those smiles.
Look at the exhilaration that they just got married! Not many moments in life are that joyful.
Congratulations to the Registers! I hope your honeymoon was wonderful and I can't wait to show you the rest of the photos. Thanks for including me.

Pretty in Pink

These are my friends Jeri and Dale. Jeri is the sister of one of my best friends, and you will meet no sweeter girl. She's the perfect combo of honest/sassy and just plain old sweet. Dale has been my sanity saver so many times. It usually starts with a text like this: "Dale, my air conditioning won't go below 75. I'm dying. HELP." And is followed by "LOL, I'll be there tomorrow, even if it's 10 pm." And sure enough, the next night I'm cool as a cucumber, with an ice maker fixed or washing machine filter cleaned out to-boot! If you EVER need an A/C man, you must call him. He's wonderful, reasonable and trustworthy. Thank heavens he's in my world.

AND in addition to all that above, they have such cute twins. Like I mentioned, we are friends through Jeri's brother, so I've been around them a lot. But, there are usually around 6 kids running around, so I am too over-stimulated to play with the kids besides my own. As we arrived at the farm for the photo shoot, I could tell that would be no problem. They have personalities as adorable as their little faces. "E" is talkative, inquisitive and usually beaming. "C" is quiet, observational, with the sweetest smile. Dale told me that "E" is usually with him (he's chatty) and "C" is usually with Jeri (she's not) and their personalities are a complete reflection of that. So, enough chatter from THIS chatty photographer. Here they are...
