The H Family

I was so honored when Mrs. H called me to do her Christmas card/children's photos for the second year! We headed out to a park that I love and did some playing. Snapped a few photos while we were there. It's hard to get 4 kids to smile AND look at you all at once people! Here are my faves.

I couldn't decide which one to post of this fella, so you get both.

Lovely Lira

Meet Lira and David. Let me tell you (aside from the obvious) why Lira is so beautiful. She has NO idea. She wouldn't let Liz Young or me take a single picture until she was all the way ready, and even then I'm not sure she was enthused. Until she saw David... or maybe I should say, until David saw her. She was a big bundle of nerves, until the ceremony began and she laid eyes on her almost husband. Then she was relaxed and smiley and alive.

I loved the colors of her wedding, as you can see by all the pictures of the flowers.

I like this image for 2 reasons... 1- the way Lira is looking at David. (Capturing the bride's loving looks at the groom seems to be becoming my "thing." Not even on purpose.) 2- the clock in the background. Just seems to document the day really precisely.

The reception was at The Club, and of course I couldn't resist a picture of the skyline on this gorgeous night as we did some less formal group shots on the balcony.

Kate and Brett- September 09

Kate and Brett were married at a church I love dearly, Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church, on a dreary day in September. Amelia Strauss and I COULD have forgotten about the rain though, because of the joy on sweet Kate's face. She was beautiful and happy during the preparation process, but became a different girl altogether when she saw Brett. The smile got bigger, the nerves went away, she just got plain silly. It was a delight!

Kate has a big ole family, and it was fun to see them enjoy each other. The wedding and reception were at the church, with toasts, bubbles and a well-decorated get-away car. But the day was about Kate and Brett and those that love them.

Confession

I must confess, I have had a very grumpy day. It's that time between the crazy Christmas card/family portrait season and the start of wedding season. I really enjoy that down-time for a little while, since the busy season is so full, but now I'm ready for the photography calendar to start filling back up!!!

So, to cheer me up, I've decided to blog a session that makes me happy. This is my best friend, Trisha, and her adorable boys. (You may recognize her from my ad in B'ham Mag or Portico!) They just wanted some good family shots and something for their Christmas card. We had so much fun, as we always do, and got some REALLY great shots. I don't know how to narrow it down for this post!

Let me know how you like it...
